Job Description

Opportunity to join the legal team of a well-established mining company in Saudi Arabia.

The primary responsibility of the Legal Counsel is to provide legal advice, guidance, analysis and support on a broad range of corporate / commercial, corporate governance, finance and securities, in addition to addressing corporate / commercial law related matters.

The Legal Counsel will work closely with the Senior Legal Counsel, other members of the Legal and Compliance team, a variety of internal stakeholders across all functional areas at the corporate level, as well as strategic business units and affiliates, both wholly-owned and joint ventures.

Responsibilities of the role to include:

-Support and lead, where appropriate, matters relating to company general company law, corporate / commercial legal matters, including contract negotiation, drafting, interpretation and claims as necessary -Draft and review legal documents, including documents for complex transactions. -Interpret both Saudi Arabian and international legislation and regulations, relevant to the business, with support as required -Research legal issues of substantial complexity on an international, national and regional basis to evaluate impact on the Company and provide advice in relation thereto -Keep up with legislative changes and be attuned to legal and business trends that could impact the business

Requirements for the Role:

-The ideal candidate will be a graduate of a recognised undergraduate law program in a common or civil law jurisdiction (e.g. JD or LLB) with exceptional academic standing, -Possess experience in-house in a leading international company and / or in private practice in a pre-eminent international law firm -Superior analytical, judgment and drafting skills and an ability to co-ordinate complex or multi-faceted legal matters is a key requirement

Candidates should also have worked in the Gulf region or other Arabic speaking countries for a minimum of 3 years.

-Excellent command of English required. Some knowledge of Arabic would be advantageous.
