Tunnelling - Civil Engineering - Infrastructure
Our client is currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to be based in Hertfordshire, just outside the Greater London area.
The purpose of this role is to provide site engineering duties for a number of projects within the region. The Site Engineer will establish the level and survey control for contracts and set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring that checks are made on a regular basis.
The role will also involve:
• Managing and directing ground and archaeological investigation contractors along with other disciplines such as fencing and land drainage • Ensuring records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements • Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time • Establishing safe working cultures and practices and ensure all work is delivered defect/snag free
The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
• Previous experience of setting out on civil engineering projects • Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations • Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station or EDM instruments • Degree qualified/HNC (or equivalent) in civil engineering • Excellent communication skills • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook
In addition, the following is desirable:
• Experience in using AutoCAD and MS Office • Temporary-works co-ordination • CSCS card • Cable avoidance training • First aid training • NEBOSH or IOSH
