An expanding multi-million dollar mining company in West Africa requires a Rail Operations Manager to provide leadership, direction, oversight, and management of all aspects of its railway activities to ensure successful delivery of industrial freight, specifically iron ore. The role will involve regular track inspections and maintenance, supervising construction during project phase, validating delivery receipts and shipment manifests, managing local and expat workforce and ensuring safe working conditions, assigning, monitoring, and evaluating workflow on rail including distributing loading/unloading and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies/procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience in management position, bulk commodities experience,( iron ore and coal necessary), ability to work in remote environments, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience working in developing countries would be an advantage. This role is residential in West Africa and will attract a competitive package.
