An expanding multi-million dollar mining company located in West Africa requires an experienced Port Operations Manager to provide leadership, direction, oversight, and management of all aspects of its port activities to ensure successful delivery of industrial freight, specifically iron ore. The role will involve regular port inspections and related equipment maintenance, supervising construction and ensuring achievement of various operational targets, managing local and expat workforce and ensuring safe working conditions, assigning, monitoring, and evaluating workflow at the port including loading/unloading, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies/procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience in management position, bulk commodities experience, (iron ore and coal necessary), and have strong verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Previous experience working in developing countries would be an advantage. This role is residential in West Africa and will attract a competitive package.
